Bombay High Court quashes POCSO case against 19-year-old after mother of minor girl consents
After noting that the 19-year-old accused and the minor girl had stayed together out of friendship, the Court concluded that it would not be in the interest of justice to continue the case.
The Bombay High Court recently quashed a case registered under the Protection Of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against a 19-year-old man after the victim’s mother granted consent for the same. [Shiva Chanappa Odala v. State of Maharashtra & Anr]
