Calcutta High Court orders West Bengal Speaker to decide disqualification petition against Mukul Roy

The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday ordered the Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Biman Banerjee to decide the disqualification petition filed against Mukul Roy who had joined the All India Trinamool Congress Party (AITC) after he won the 2021 assembly elections on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket in May this year (Ambika Roy v. Hon’ble Speaker, West Bengal Legislative Assembly and ors).
