The Central government on Saturday notified the appointment of seven judicial officers as judges of the Delhi High Court.
Nivedita Anil Sharma and Nisha Sahay Saxena have been appointed permanent judges.
Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Aditi Choudhary, Dinesh Bhatt and Arun Bhardwaj have been appointed as additional judges.
Arun Bhardwaj is the incumbent Registrar General of Delhi High Court.
Notably, the Supreme Court Collegium had on September 10 recommended the names of eight judicial officers for appointment as Delhi High Court judges.
Of these, only seven names have been cleared by the Central government. Gurvinder Pal Singh is not among the names cleared for judgeship by the Centre today.
The Delhi High Court, which has a sanctioned strength of 60 judges, is currently functioning with 44 judges, with a vacancy position of 16.
