Delhi government moves Supreme Court challenging ten appointments to MCD by LG without advice from Council of Ministers

According to the petition, the LG is bound to act on the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers and refer the issue to the President in case of a difference of opinion.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a response from the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi in a plea by the Delhi government claiming that he illegally appointed ten nominated members to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) without the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers [Government of NCT of Delhi v. Office of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi].
