The Delhi High Court today bid farewell to Justice GS Sistani who is set to retire as the second-in-command on March 10. .After Justice Sistani's retirement and considering the transfer of Justice Subramonium Prasad as an Additional Judge, the Delhi High Court will function with a strength of 34 judges. .Presently, the sanctioned strength of Judges of the High Court of Delhi is 45 permanent Judges and 15 Additional Judges..The Delhi High Court Bar Association's farewell was followed by a Full Court Reference held in the Chief Justice's Court. ."I am not sad or emotional", Justice GS Sistani said as he remarked that he would always share the same bond with the High Court. "I am retired, not tired.", he quickly added. .Justice Sistani spoke fondly of his days as a young lawyer in the High Court. "Being a first-generation lawyer is not a disadvantage.
