In continuation of its earlier orders, all interim orders passed by the Delhi High Court and its subordinate courts, which are subsisting as of today, stand extended till October 31, 2020 (Court on its own motion vs State : Re Extension of interim orders).

"We will extend it till the last date of October."
the High Court said.

An order to this effect was passed today by a three-Judge Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justices Siddharth Mridul and Talwant Singh in view of the spread of the COVID-19 contagion and the limited functioning of the courts.

This order of extension shall be applicable to criminal matters of bail/ interim bail/ parole as well.

"We will be slowly starting (physical hearing) with the consent of all...", Chief Justice DN Patel reiterated today.

As per the latest order, the functioning of the High Court and its subordinate courts shall remain suspended till August 31. However, the High Court has notified that the graded resumption of physical hearings may begin from September 1 onwards.

On March 25, the High Court had passed an order extending the life of interim orders which were subsisting as on March 16 and were likely to expire or had already expired, till May 15, 2020.

Subsequently, as the limited functioning of the courts continued, the life of interim orders was given three extensions. The latest extension was set to expire on August 31.
