In continuation of orders, the Delhi High Court today ordered that all interim orders passed by the High Court and its subordinate courts, which were subsisting as on June 15 and are likely to expire or have already expired, stand automatically extended till July 15, 2020, or until further orders. (Court on its own motion vs State : Re Extension of interim orders)
An order to this effect was passed by a three-Judge Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justices Siddharth Mridul and Talwant Singh in view of the situation of COVID-19 pandemic in Delhi.
On March 25, the High Court had passed an order extending the life of interim orders which were subsisting as on March 16 and were likely to expire or had already expired, till May 15, 2020.
Subsequently, as the order on suspended functioning of court continued, the life of interim orders was extended till June 15.
Recently, the functioning of the High Court and its subordinate courts was suspended till June 30.
Therefore, the Court today took up the issue of extension of interim orders and ordered,
