The Madras High Court on Wednesday directed the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to "audited financial statements/complete financials after being appraised that no action had been taken yet to enable the disbursement of advocate welfare funds in the form of interim payments to aid lawyers and advocates' clerks in need amid the COVID-19 crisis (Dr AE Chelliah v.
