Karnataka High Court Chief Justice (CJ), AS Oka expressed his gratitude to the High Court Bar on Thursday, stating that his stint at the High Court for two years and three months was a pleasant experience..CJ Oka was responding to the congratulatory messages from the Bar after his elevation to the Supreme Court of India was reportedly cleared by the Central government on Wednesday evening. .[BREAKING] Collegium resolution recommending nine persons for elevation to Supreme Court published on SC website [READ RESOLUTION] .As the first session before the CJ drew to a close on Thursday afternoon, lawyers took turn to congratulate the judge. Besides Justice Oka, Justice BV Nagarathna of Karnataka High Court has also been recommended for elevation to Supreme Court..Justice Nagarathna will also be the first woman to be the Chief Justice of India (CJI) albeit with a very short tenure lasting only 36 days. She will occupy the post from September 24, 2027 to October 29, 2027.Justice Oka will, however, not be the CJI but will demit office as a puisne judge in May 2025.
