Revealed: Justice Ashok Bhushan authored the addendum in the Ayodhya judgment to show how the land was originally the birthplace of Lord Ram

During the online farewell recently held on his retirement as a Supreme Court judge, it was revealed that Justice Ashok Bhushan authored the 116-page long addendum in the Ayodhya judgment detailing how the disputed land was the birth place of Lord Ram. .President of Supreme Court Bar Association and Senior Advocate Vikas Singh put quietus to this long-discussed secret in legal circles.."Two people recused from Ayodhya matter and that is how Justice Bhushan came there. Justice Bhushan had written that paragraph in Ayodhya judgment and the author was not named. Justice Bhushan had written on the Hindu religion. It was said that the Hindu religion did not satisfy the narrow areas of other religions and was more of a way of life," Vikas Singh said during the event. .Singh also spoke of how Justice Bhushan was very "spiritual" and that his travels were mostly confined to "religious places.".As the main judgment viewed the entire disputed land as one composite whole, it does not consider it necessary to determine whether or not the Hindu faith considers the exact spot at which Lord Ram was born to be inside or outside the Babri Masjid structure itself..The addendum, however, examined the oral and documentary evidence presented before the Allahabad High Court and the Supreme Court and found that:“Faith and belief of the Hindus as depicted by the evidence on record clearly establish that the Hindus belief [sic] that at the birth place of Lord Ram, the Mosque was constructed and three-dome structure is the birth place of Lord Ram.".Justice Bhushan, who authored the addendum, referred to old Gazettes from the British era which repeat the story that the Mosque was built on the site of a ‘Janamsthan temple’ as well as complaints by Mosque officials to the authorities against Hindus praying inside the Mosque and placing idols for the worship of Lord Ram there..The Supreme Court had maintained that there was no need for an author of the main judgment since it was an "unanimous verdict." Then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, who was part of the Bench that gave the title of the disputed site to Hindus, later went on record to say,"Speaking for myself, I have been the author of 13 judgments where the name is not shown.
