[BREAKING] Madhya Pradesh High Court to soon provide weblink to view virtual court proceedings

The Madhya Pradesh High Court administration has informed the the High Court's judicial side that web link to view court proceedings held via video conference will be made available online soon (Nupur Thapliyal and ors v. High Court of Madhya Pradesh and ors)..In the Writ filed on behalf of the journalists, Registrar General of the High Court, bringing on record minutes of E-Committee meeting of High Court, stated that the E Committee has resolved to provide live web links of the hearings happening through virtual mode and video conferencing to all the journalists and those intending to access them.The High Court's response came on plea moved by four journalists seeking better access to the High Court proceedings.The High Court administration said that it has approved virtual streaming of court proceedings through a link to be made available on the Madhya Pradesh High Court website.A resolution was also passed in this regard on June 15 based on a meeting of the High Court's Computer and e-Committee held on June 14, the reply further said. The Computer and e-Committee resolved that until the finalization of rules for live-streaming of court proceedings, the link for viewing live-streamed High Court proceedings may be shared through the Court's website i.e. www.mphc.gov.in in a one way mode..Nidhesh Gupta, Senior Advocate, appearing for the petitioner journalist while commenting on the development opined that the timeline in which live streaming shall start is not specified."It also does not indicate whether live streaming shall be started immediately. Further, there is no clarity as to whether the links shall be provided for all the courts or few courts on pilot basis.
