The Rajasthan High Court issued a circular yesterday issuing instructions to be observed in the premises of courts in Rajasthan so as to have effective control and containment over spread of the novel Corona Virus (COVID-I9)..The circular states that no function or other event of mass gathering shall be permitted in the court premises and that any requests for personal exemption of litigants/witnesses be considered. No adverse orders are to be passed on such absence, it is added..It also states that, "As far as possible, remand of all the prisoners be given only through video conferencing and over crowding in the lockup be avoided.".Certain other measures have also been provided in the circular, namely,Mediation proceedings be held only in urgent matters;Advocates to advise clients not to visit the court premises unless it is very essential;all the court rooms, offices, chairs, tables, gates, railings, etc., be disinfected regularly at least twice a day ;Nodal officers appointed by the State Government can be coordinated with, in order to deploy para medical personnel in the court complexes for primary medical check-up of the entrants ;any Court staff suffering from known symptoms to be instructed to follow the medical advice..The Circular is to remain in force till further orders are issued..[Read the Circular here]
