Sameet Thakkar granted bail by Metropolitan Magistrate at Esplanade, Mumbai

The Court granted bail after the Public Prosecutor reiterated the State's stand in Supreme Court that custodial interrogation was over and that Thakkar's bail will not be opposed.

The Metropolitan Magistrate (Holiday Court) at Esplanade, Mumbai on Monday granted bail to twitter celebrity Sameet Thakkar, who was arrested in connection with an FIR registered with the BKC Cyber Cell Police station.

Thakkar had been arrested for allegedly making defamatory and derogatory statements against Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Cabinet Minister Aditya Thackeray.
