SC Women Lawyers Association moves Supreme Court for changes to MOP to ensure appointment of women Supreme Court lawyers as High Court judges

In the plea, which has been filed in a pending case relating to appointment of judges in High Courts across the country, SCWLA highlighted that out of 661 judges in High Courts across India, only 73 are women.

The Supreme Court Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA) has moved Supreme Court seeking directions to consider "meritorious women lawyers practicing in the Supreme Court" for appointment as judges of High Courts.
