Supreme Court halts demolition of Geeta Ghat shelter homes; no demolition of any shelter home without prior permission

The bench issued directions to the Delhi Police, the Delhi Development Authority and concerned Delhi government authorities in this regard while hearing a matter regarding demolition of night-shelters.

The Supreme Court on Monday directed authorities to halt the demolition of shelter home at Geeta Ghat and also ordered that no temporary shelter home in Delhi be demolished without the apex court's prior approval [ER Kumar and anr vs Union of India and ors].
