The Registrar General (I/C) of the Madras High Court has notified that an e-Court Fee system will be implemented for the Court starting April 20.
As per the notification signed by Registrar General C Kumarappan, the service will be implemented for the Principal Bench of the Court initially.
The service has been introduced as an Advocate/Litigant centric initiative of the Tamil Nadu government through its Central record-keeping agency, Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd.
The computer-based system is designed to provide an easier and secure way of paying judicial stamp duty to the government. It is also aimed at tackling counterfeiting.
The user manual for generating the e-Court Fee is available on the Madras High Court website.
The notification dated April 16, 2018 states,
“The Madras High Court is pleased to commence e-Court Fee System, an Advocate/ Litigant centric initiative of the Government of Tamil Nadu through their Central Record Keeping Agency, viz., Stock Holding Corporation of India
Ltd. The service will start from 20 April 2018, initially for Principal Bench of Madras High Court, Madras and Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai.
