The Bar Council of India has reappointed Manan Kumar Mishra as the new Chairman after the existing Chairman Biri Singh Sinsinwar resigned from the post on November 9..The BCI held its meeting in Cochin on Sunday and reappointed Manan Kumar Mishra as the BCI Chairman..It is understood that Sinsinwar resigned due to health reasons and some “professional commitments” after completing only 7 months as the BCI Chairman, a post that has a tenure of 2 years..Mishra will confirmed to Bar & Bench that he will now continue for the remaining term, that is till April 2016..Mishra is a graduate of University of Patna and and enrolled as a lawyer 1980. Just under three decades later, he was designated a Senior Advocate in the High Court of Patna in November 2006..Mishra has been a member with the State Bar Council of Bihar since 1987 and was Chairman of the Bar Council of India for two years starting April 16, 2012..S. Prabhakaran from Tamil Nadu has now been appointed as the Co-Chairman. The BCI also elected Bhoje Gowda from Karnataka as Vice-Chairman. They were elected in the general council meeting of the BCI, reports Deccan Chronicle.
