The case filed by Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor's children before the Delhi High Court over their father Sunjay Kapur's Will witnessed another interesting hearing on Wednesday as Sunjay Kapur's wife Priya Sachdev Kapur rebuffed the allegations that she transferred Sunjay Kapur’s assets abroad.

Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar appeared for Kapur and challenged her mother-in-law Rani Kapur’s assertion that she (Priya Kapur) had concealed the details of Sunjay Kapur’s assets from the Court

“I have filed a detailed list of assets, and every transaction is in the list of assets… No money has been moved abroad,” Nayar said.

The allegation is “baseless and reckless,” Nayar said.

He also challenged the argument by Rani Kapur’s lawyer that Sunjay Kapur was receiving a salary of ₹60 crore from just one company.

“Mr Kapur was a director [in AIPL] for year 2023-24 when he received a salary of ₹10 crore for that financial year. For that financial year, he also received a one-time bonus of ₹50 crore. Out of that, a TDS of ₹23.5 crore was deducted and he got ₹ 36.5 crore in hand. Out of that ₹28.5 crore was spent on the purchase of immovable assets, properties in London,” Nayar said.

He further stated that Rani Kapur herself receives ₹21.5 lakh per month from AIPL, and her personal expenses continue to be paid for exactly as they were when Sunjay was alive.

“So much for step-daughterly treatment,” he said.

The senior counsel was making submissions before Justice Jyoti Singh, who was hearing the interim injunction application filed by Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor’s two children to restrain Priya Kapur from creating any third-party rights over their father Sunjay Kapur’s assets.

In the main suit, the siblings have accused stepmother Priya Kapur (the third wife of Sunjay Kapur) of forging Sunjay Kapur's will and trying to gain total control of the property.

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married for 13 years, from 2003 to 2016 before getting divorced. They have a son and a daughter together. Sunjay later married Priya.

Central to the dispute is a will dated March 21, 2025, which allegedly leaves Sunjay Kapur’s entire personal estate to Priya Sachdeva Kapur.

Nayar today also challenged the assertion that Priya Kapur was removed as director of the company by Sunjay Kapur due to marital discord.

He said that Priya Kapur resigned on her own in May 2023 from AIPL and all she and her husband did was switch positions in the companies.

Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani then began his rejoinder arguments for Karisma Kapoor.

He will continue with his submissions on Thursday.
