Plea in Supreme Court for SIT probe into violent protests against Agnipath scheme

The plea was mentioned on Tuesday before a bench of Justices CT Ravikumar and Sudhanshu Dhulia for early listing. The bench directed that that the matter be placed before Chief Justice of India NV Ramana.

A plea has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking a probe by a special investigation team (SIT) into the violent protests against the Agnipath scheme which proposes to induct youth into the army for four years.
