OP Vaish, Senior Advocate and Founding Partner of Vaish Associates passed away today morning at 8:30 am. He was 82 years old. He is survived by his wife Manju Vaish, son Vinay Vaish, who is a Partner at Vaish Associates, and five daughters..There will be no cremation ceremony as he had donated his body to AIIMS for research. His body has already been moved to AIIMS with the Department of Anatomy..Vaish had set up Vaish Associates in 1971, a firm which grew to become one of the prominent firms in the country. He worked with the Indian Revenue Service and later as Chief of Taxation Division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry in his initial years. He was designated as a Senior Advocate in 1985 by the Delhi High Court..Vaish has been member of the J J Irani Committee set for rewriting Indian Company Law. He has been Chairman of the Committee on Streamlining Prosecutions under the Indian Companies Act..Speaking to Bar & Bench, Vaish Associates Competition Law Practive Head MM Sharma, said, “Mr. OP Vaish used to guide us all and was a mentor to all of us”..Presently, the firm has operations in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru.
