Supreme Court Collegium recommends 9 additional judges in 4 High Courts to be made permanent

The Collegium also recommended the extension of the term of 7 additional judges of Calcutta High Court by one year.

The Supreme Court collegium on July 28 recommended that nine additional judges in the High Courts of Andhra Pradesh, Calcutta, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka be made permanent judges of the respective courts.

Following judges have been recommended to be made permanent:

Andhra Pradesh High Court

Justice Harinath Nunepally;

Justice Kiranmayee Mandava @ Kiranmayee Kanaparthy;

Justice Sumathi Jagadam;

Justice Nyapathy Vijay;

Chhattisgarh High Court

Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal

Karnataka High Court

Justice Gurusiddaiah Basavaraja

Calcutta High Court

Justice Partha Sarathi Sen;

Justice Apurba Sinha Ray.

The Collegium also recommended that seven additional judges of the Calcutta High Court be appointed for a fresh term of one year.

Justice Biswaroop Chowdhury;

Justice Prasenjit Biswas;

Justice Uday Kumar;

Justice Ajay Kumar Gupta;

Justice Supratim Bhattacharya;

Justice Partha Sarathi Chatterjee;

Justice Md Shabbar Rashidi.
