What Jammu & Kashmir High Court said on PIL for protection, welfare of ancient Hindu temples
The PIL was filed seeking directions to the government to take appropriate measures to protect, rebuild and renovate the ancient temples in J&K and to retrieve temple land encroached by mafia and other property dealers.
The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh recently refused to entertain a public interest litigation (PIL) petition filed by a social activist seeking protection and welfare of the ancient Hindu temples as well as the retrieval of land of temples allegedly encroached by mafia and other property dealers in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) [Gautam Anand V/s Union of India].
