Yardstick for judging conduct of judicial officer has to be strict, SC upholds compulsory retirement order against District Judge

While upholding an order of compulsory retirement passed against an Additional District and Sessions Judge, the Supreme Court recently observed that the yardstick for judging the conduct of a judicial officer has to be strict. This will ensure that the common litigant has faith in the justice system at the subordinate judiciary level itself, the Court opined.
