Former Supreme Court Justice Rajesh Bindal joins Galgotias University law school

The retired judge has been appointed as Honorary Distinguished Jurist.

Justice Rajesh Bindal, former judge of the Supreme Court of India, has joined the School of Law, Galgotias University as Honorary Distinguished Jurist.

The University, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said,

"His association will enrich student mentorship, masterclasses, moot court initiatives, faculty research, curriculum enrichment, and academia-judiciary collaboration, inspiring future legal professionals rooted in ethics, competence, and social responsibility."

Justice Bindal was elevated as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in March 2006. In 2018, he was transferred to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, where he served as the Acting Chief Justice for about a month from December 2020 to January 2021, before being transferred to the Calcutta High Court. He assumed office as Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court on April 27, 2021. Subsequently, he took oath as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court in October 2021 and was elevated to the Supreme Court in February 2023. He retired in April 2026.
