Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.
This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.
In this edition, we speak with Parul Sharma, a fifth-year law student at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, Kerala.

Why did you choose to study law?
I had an inclination to law mainly because of my father who is also a practicing lawyer in the High Court. As a child I was fascinated to the official dress code. I was bad at Math's so unlike my cousins writing NEET or JEE, the best option for me was to write CLAT.
For my +2 I opted for Humanities and while preparing for CLAT I realized that law involves lot of reading and offers an opportunity to think out of the box, most importantly I loved the subjects.
I am currently in my 5th year and at this point I feel glad about the choice as law is a very powerful tool to bring change in society and also because it permitted me to explore different avenues of life from a totally different perspective.
What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?
From my personal experience I have been a regular follower of bar and bench wherein it was possible for me to get an insight into relevant Supreme Court Judgements, case briefs, for that matter any new update or development in area of law.
Campus Ambassador program is unique as it not only gives recognition but also motivation to budding lawyers by offering an opportunity to be a leader and to represent the college.
To sum up each day involves continuous learning process and it is a matter of great privilege to be a part of this program.
What are your plans after completing law?
Currently my plan is to take up a job in a law firm and at a later point of time pursuing Masters but since law provides diverse options, I prefer to explore possibilities and not restrict to something specific.
