Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.
This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.
In this edition, we speak with Samarth Kapoor, a third-year law student at the Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Why did you choose to study law?
I think studying law is the best way to understand what our society is about, how it runs, what its rules are, how politics are involved, and how the individual person is affected by all that. A law degree equips you for almost any profession that requires intellectual strength combined with a practical approach to the world.
Law is a professional course and helps you develop certain skills like Critical analysis, drafting of documents, research, argument & presentation, and sharing of ideas. So these reasons channelize my approach towards Law and as there’s a famous saying that in the legal field you shall remain a student for life, keeping this in mind I applied and choose to study law.
What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?
I have read about Legal Journalism a lot and as Bar & Bench is one of the leading and premier online portal for Indian Legal News, it will be a future nurturing step to join the team and work with them to get first-hand knowledge of the Legal happenings not only in India but in all over the world.
Also, it will be a golden opportunity for me to be a part of the movement of spreading Legal Awareness all around the globe. Really looking forward to it. During my internships or project submission or in a Moot Preparation Bar & Bench helped me a lot, and this post is something that I cannot afford to miss out.
What are your plans after completing law?
As of now, I am exploring different fields to find out what my forte is. To be honest I am more inclined towards the litigation aspect but being a first generation lawyer, I am looking for stability after my graduation. However, this is confirmed that I will pursue litigation someday.
