LSAT 2020: Shivansh Sinha and Shailja Beria top exam, Kiara D'Souza bags Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship

The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) has announced that Shivansh Sinha and Shailja Beria have emerged as the toppers of Law School Admission Test (LSAT), 2020.

The toppers are now eligible for the prestigious "Topper Scholarship", announced LSAC.

A total of 5,667 students successfully took the LSAT this year. Due to the restrictions posed by COVID-19 and considering the safety of candidates, LSAT—India was conducted virtually this year.

The exam was conducted between July 19-29. This also included three back up days put in place to help those candidates who were unable to take the test owing to personal/technical reasons.

This apart, LSAC has informed that Kiara D'Souza has bagged the 'Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship this year, in an essay competition. D' Souza's entry was adjudged the winner from among 175 essay entries.

The scholarship was instituted by LSAC Global for this academic year in honour of the late Professor Dr. Shamnad Basheer.

Each scholarship entitles the winners to receive a prize money of upto Rs 4 lakh which will cover their tuition as well as boarding/hostel fees for the first year of a law programme at any LSAC Global Law Alliance college, reads the press release.

"Through these scholarships, LSAC Global India (LSAG) looks forward to opening doors and providing increased opportunities for talented students and law school aspirants in India thus carrying on Law School Admission Council’s (LSAC) mission to promote diversity, access, and equity in legal education."
