NLU Jodhpur wins IBA ICC moot national rounds 2026

The five teams that have qualified for the international rounds are NLUJ, NLSIU, SLS Pune, GNLU and HNLU.

A team from National Law University Jodhpur (NLUJ) has won the International Bar Association (IBA) International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Court Competition (MCC) India National Rounds 2026.

The NLUJ team comprised Aaryan Bagrecha, Ruth Sarah Abraham, Mayank Sinha and Satyam Mehta.

The team from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore comprising Ayesha Khan, Pradnesh Kamat, Lohith Reddy, and Aayushi Yadav emerged as the Runners-up.

School of Law, Christ University, Vamshikrishna Kusuma won the Best Speaker award.

National Law University, Delhi won the Best Memorial award.

The five teams that have qualified for the international rounds are NLUJ, Symbiosis Law School, Pune; National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore; Gujarat National Law University (GNLU); and Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU).

This year's moot problem dealt with the admissibility of an armed conflict between two States who are not party to the Rome Statute and neither have been referred by the Security Council.

It brought together questions of Head of State immunity, protection of humanitarian missions at sea, and the legal consequences of irregular rendition, issues that continue to shape ongoing conversations in international criminal law today.

The final round was adjudicated by Prof (Dr) VG Hegde, Prof (Dr) Pushpa Kumar Lakshmanan, Prof (Dr) Anupam Jha, and Senior Advocate Manu Sharma.
