The search for the NLSIU VC was chaired by former NUJS Director MP Singh, Attorney General KK Venugopal and Senior Advocate Arvind Datar.

It is understood that former NLSIU student and faculty at Azim Premji University Sudhir Krishnaswamy and Symbiosis Law School Director Dr. Shashikala Gurpur were amongst the candidates who had applied for the post of Vice-Chancellor.
