Argus Partners acts on BCCI auction of media rights for the Women’s IPL Seasons 2023-2027

Viacom 18 has won media rights for the upcoming Women’s IPL for Rs 951 crore for five years.

The BCCI on Monday announced that Viacom 18 has won the media rights for the upcoming Women’s IPL for Rs 951 crore for five years. The other bidders included Disney Star and Sony.

This means that the Board will earn INR 7.90 Cr for each match—this is more than the media rights of a men’s league.

The bid process for determining the successful bidder(s) for the Media Rights was conducted on January 16, 2023.

Argus Partners was the legal advisor to BCCI for the bid process. 

The transaction was led by Adity Chaudhury (Partner) with the assistance of Tushar Oberoy, Jinansh Shah, Navya Pathak, Tarak Shah, Srijoy Deb and Amaan Rahman (Associates)

The deal is subject to the execution of definitive documentation and completion of formalities as required by BCCI, and other obligations specified in the Invitation to Tender being completed.
