JSA advises PepsiCo on exclusive Bottling Arrangement in India with Varun Beverages

Pursuant to the Agreement, the bottling rights and license to use PepsiCo’s trademarks by Varun Beverages has been extended till 2049.

PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited has executed a revised Exclusive Bottling Appointment and Trademark Licence Agreement with Varun Beverages Limited.

JSA Advocates & Solicitors advised PepsiCo on the execution of this Agreement and other related agreements with Varun Beverages.

The transaction team was led by Kartik Jain (Partner), along with support from Dushyant Thakur (Senior Associate) and Anmol Mahajan (Associate).

Pursuant to the Agreement, among other things, the bottling rights and license to use PepsiCo’s trademarks granted for a substantial part of the territory of India to Varun Beverages has been extended by 10 years and will be valid till April 30, 2049. Further, the restrictions requiring Varun Beverages to operate solely for PepsiCo’s business have now been removed.

Varun Beverages is PepsiCo’s anchor bottler in India and one of PepsiCo’s largest bottling partners outside the United States.
