Collegium recommends appointment of Judicial Officer Vinai Kumar Dwivedi as Allahabad HC judge

The High Court is currently functioning with 107 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 160.

The Supreme Court Collegium on Tuesday recommended the appointment of judicial officer Vinai Kumar Dwivedi as a judge of the Allahabad High Court.

A statement to that effect was published by the Collegium on the Supreme Court website.

"The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 06th October 2025, has approved the proposal for appointment of Shri Vinai Kumar Dwivedi, Judicial Officer, as a Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad," the Collegium statement said.

The Central government had recently cleared the appointment of 24 new judges to the Allahabad High Court.

The High Court is currently functioning with 107 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 160.
