Amazon's Gaurav Ajmani joins Snapchat as Assistant General Counsel & CCO

Ajmani moves to Snapchat after a 12.5-year stint at Amazon, where he served as Associate General Counsel and led senior legal and compliance functions.

Amazon's Gaurav Ajmani has joined Snapchat as Assistant General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Ajmani spent 12-and-a-half years at Amazon, where he served as Associate General Counsel and led senior legal and compliance functions. During his time at Amazon, he worked across complex regulatory, governance and risk matters, supporting the company’s expansion across multiple businesses and geographies.

Before Amazon, Ajmani was Investigations Senior Manager at Microsoft Corporation between 2007 and 2013, where he oversaw fraud prevention, detection and investigations across the Asia-Pacific region. He also helped build regional anti-corruption programmes and compliance training frameworks.

Earlier, he served as Head of Fraud Intelligence and Compliance at Bharti Airtel Limited from 2004 to 2007, designing proactive fraud scoring models and leading audits and investigations across telecom operations.

Ajmani began his career at GE in underwriting and risk management roles, after which he worked in business development at Compare Infobase Limited.

He holds an MBA in International Business from All India Management Association, an LL.B. from Chaudhary Charan Singh University and a B.Com (Hons) from University of Delhi.

At Snap, Ajmani will lead global compliance initiatives.
