Consulting and solutions firm Counselect has acquired Lawmetrik, a specialist in legal value optimisation and managed services.

Both Counselect and Lawmetrik have enabled clients navigate and capitalise on emerging trends, including in the areas of value capture, risk management, legal tech and AI-readiness.

Quantascend acted as deal advisors to Counselect, with legal counsel provided by IndusLaw.

Acumen advised Lawmetrik on the deal, while YNZ Legal and Mahika Parikh served as legal advisors.

As part of the integration, Lawmetrik Founder Basil Almeida will join Counselect as co-founder and President.

Co-founder of Counselect Ritvik Lukose will take the role of CEO.

The leadership team will also include Executive Directors Balanand Menon and Rishabh Chopra, along with Vaishali Gopal, Emerald Amara and Siddharth Narsipur (Lawmetrik). Lawmetrik’s entire team will be fully integrated into Counselect.

Commenting on the acquisition, Lukose said in a press release,

We both started with a common hypothesis—that there is tremendous business value to unlock for legal departments that organise systematically around information management, operations, technology and an innovative talent strategy. Having validated this in our individual journeys, we’re coming together to become the first choice for clients that want to modernise and scale their legal and compliance functions. As we grow our GCC offering and expand our work with global clients, we are thrilled to have Basil and his outstanding team onboard.”

Almeida stated,

After pioneering work in legal value improvement and managed solutions, we are thrilled to join forces with Counselect, a highly visible brand we have always admired for its bold thinking and deep relationships across the in-house ecosystem. Together, we’re doubling down on our shared vision to help legal functions integrate with business to deliver measurable impact at scale.”
