Boolean Legal, a boutique law firm that specialises in venture capital (VC) financing, sell-side mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and regulatory practice in the technology space, officially opened in Bengaluru last month.

The firm is founded by Lalu John Philip, a former partner at JSA.

Philip has extensive experience advising VC and PE firms as well as emerging companies. He is a 2011 alumnus of National Law School (NLSIU), Bangalore, where he is also a visiting faculty member.

On the vision behind setting up the firm, Philip said,

"From day one, our goal at Boolean Legal is to integrate efficiency with effectiveness. While the legal field has long been protected from market forces by its licensure, we recognise that as alternative legal service providers (ALSPs) and other professional advisory firms increasingly leverage technology to expand into areas traditionally reserved for law practice, there is significant potential for innovation.

However, law firms that are nimble enough to adopt these technologies will naturally hold a competitive advantage due to their inherent professional duty to act in the best interests of their clients. Clients can feel reassured knowing their law firm not only advises but also assists in managing various aspects of their operations or deal cycle, such as cap table management or contract lifecycle. Boolean Legal is a project in that direction."

Boolean Legal is located at Level 9, Raheja Towers, East Wing, MG Road,
Bengaluru.
