Former J Sagar Associates Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Partner Asim Abbas has rejoined L&L Partners.

Abbas has over 26 years of experience in the telecommunication sector, and has also been a policy maker in the Department of Telecommunications of the Union Ministry of Communications.

Abbas moved to J Sagar Associates in January 2019. Prior to that, he was with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Asim had left Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas in 2016 to join Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

He has previously worked at Khaitan & Co, Bharti Airtel, JSA, and Luthra & Luthra (now L&L Partners). In 2010, he merged his firm Legal Spectrums with Khaitan, and five years later, he moved to Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.

Recently, former Advani & Co Partner Shonali Choudhry has also joined L&L as a Partner in Mumbai.

The two senior-most partners at L&L Partners have been embroiled in a tiff over the dilution of the firm's equity for weeks now.

After mediation talks failed to make any headway, the Delhi High Court has decided to hear the plea filed by L&L's Senior Partner Mohit Saraf against Founding Partner Rajiv Luthra on November 6, Friday.
