Sanofi India appoints Sudipta Chakraborty as Head of Legal

Chakraborty brings over two decades of legal experience across sectors, including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and conglomerate structures.

Sanofi India Limited has announced the appointment of Sudipta Chakraborty as the Head of Legal, India, effective June 2, 2025.

The appointment, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, was approved by the Board of Directors and disclosed in a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Chakraborty brings over two decades of legal experience across sectors, including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and conglomerate structures. Prior to joining Sanofi, she served as Vice President – Group Legal & Compliance at the Aditya Birla Group, where she oversaw group governance, compliance, internal restructuring, and intellectual property strategy.

Known for her business-centric approach to legal problem-solving, Chakraborty has built and scaled legal, compliance, and tax teams for both startups and Fortune 100 companies. Her core expertise spans regulatory compliance, intellectual property (including patents and trademarks), and corporate governance.

She is an alumna of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, where she earned her BA LLB (Hons.) degree.

Sanofi India Limited is the Indian subsidiary of the global healthcare company Sanofi, headquartered in Paris. Operating in India since 1956, the company is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare products across therapeutic areas such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, central nervous system disorders, and vaccines.
