The Delhi High Court on Monday granted bail to Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) President Moideen Kutty K, popularly known as MK Faizy, in a money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Justice Neena Bansal Krishna passed the order granting bail.

SDPI is allegedly the political wing of Popular Front of India (PFI) which was banned by the government in 2022.

Faizy was arrested by ED in March 2025 at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) during a money-laundering investigation linked to the PFI.

According to ED's case, the SDPI functions as the political front of PFI and relies on it for funding and operations, with proceeds of crime worth crores being routed from PFI to SDPI through undisclosed channels.

Faizy allegedly evaded multiple ED summons before his arrest, leading to a non-bailable warrant.

Senior Advocate Siddharth Agarwal with advocates Rajat Bhardwaj, Ankita M Bhardwaj, Dushyant Chaudhary, Mohd Fiyaz, Vishwajeet Singh and Siddharth Singh appeared for MK Faizy.
