Gujarat Bar doyen Senior Advocate Krishnakant Vakharia passes away

Vakharia was the Senior of incumbent Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.

Doyen of the Gujarat bar, Senior Advocate Krishnakant Vakharia passed away on Sunday.

His funeral was held at Thaltej crematorium.

Vakharia was senior to many other prominent lawyers and judges including incumbent Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta, late Justice GR Udhwani, Justices RA Mehta, RH Shukla, Jayant Patel and Harsha Devani and Senior Advocate Asim Pandya among others.

In 2021, SG Mehta had felicitated Vakharia.

"He was my guru, mentor and a father figure," SG Mehta told Bar & Bench.

Vakharia was also the longest serving President of Vishwa Gujarati Samaj.
