The city of Hyderabad, for long relegated to “back office” status for Indian law firms, is seeing a fair degree of inter-firm movement. After Rahul Sarella’s exit from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, it is now Dhir & Dhir’s turn.

The firm has hired Siva Kumar Gopinatham as Head of the Hyderabad office along with Gopinathan’s team of three associates.

Gopinatham is an old hand in the Hyderabad general corporate market, having worked at Singhania & Partners before moving to Kochhar & Co in 2010, where he worked till July 2011.

Correction: Siva Kumar has not joined Dhir & Dhir from Kochhar. He left Kochhar in July 2011.

On his decision to join Dhir, Gopinatham commented,

“It is indeed a challenging and an equally exciting mandate that I have been entrusted with. I am sure I and my team will be able to add aligned value and repute to the firm.”

KPS Kohli

That is not the only addition to Dhir & Dhir. In Delhi, KPS Kohli has rejoined the firm from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas as an Associate Partner.

According to the firm’s press release Founding Partner Alok Dhir said

“We are very excited to have KPS & Siva onboard, and the firm looks forward to doing bigger and better things in times to come”.

A graduate of National Institute of Law, Kolhi started his career with Dhir & Dhir, and had a brief stint working at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi, before he came back to Dhir & Dhir this month.

Kohli said,

“Dhir & Dhir has been a critical standpoint in my career. I am glad to be a part of the firm again.”
