Sujoy Bhatia has joined Chandhiok & Mahajan (C&M) as a Partner. Sujoy also takes on a leadership role as the head of C&M’s corporate practice.

He has over fifteen years of experience in representing and advising funds, companies, HNIs and start-ups in executing complex domestic and cross-border transactions across industries.

We are excited to welcome Sujoy to C&M. Over the past twelve months or so, we have acted as advisors in transactions of nearly USD 3.8 bn (or INR 29,000 crore) in deal value. Now more than ever, clients will look to their advisors to help them navigate these uncertain times. Sujoy has a stellar reputation and proven track record of leadership. His addition will bolster our corporate capabilities further.

Sujoy’s addition is part of the firm’s focus on capitalising on talent opportunities. Since December, the firm has hired Lovejeet Singh (from Classis Law) in the corporate and aviation practice; Vinita Sasidharan (from RegLaw Chambers) in the disputes and regulatory practice; and Deeksha Manchanda (from ELP) as counsel in the competition and regulatory practice. We have also promoted Lagna Panda, who is in our competition and regulatory team, to managing associate.

Prior to joining C&M, Sujoy was a partner with JSA’s corporate/commercial practice in Gurugram and Hyderabad since 2014. He started his career with P&A Law Offices in New Delhi before moving to Ashurst in London and Singapore.

I have worked with the teams at C&M in the past and have always admired the depth, consistency, and quality of their work product. The firm’s tremendous growth is a testament to its entrepreneurial spirit and ability to get things done. I am thrilled to be part of this collegial and motivated team, and look forward to working with the teams across C&M offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru and to growing the firm.
