Juris Corp’s Chennai Head, Hufriz Wadia resigns

Juris Corp Partner and Chennai Head Hufriz Wadia has resigned from the firm. She had joined Juris Corp in January 2013 to head the firm’s Chennai office and develop the firm’s South India practice.

Hufriz Wadia confirmed to Bar & Bench that she has submitted her resignation but declined to comment on her future plans. As per sources in the firm, Hufriz had put in her papers in the first week of August.

Prior to joining Juris Corp, Hufriz was working in the Dubai-based law firm, Al Tamimi & Company as a Senior Associate. She worked at Al Tamimi for five years where she advised on conventional and Islamic financing transactions and structuring.

After graduating from KC Law College in Mumbai, Hufriz completed her articleship with Udwadia & Udeshi, subsequently joining the firm in 2005. In 2006, she moved to Wadia Ghandy & Co where she worked for a year and a half before moving to Al Tamini & Company. Hufriz is a Solicitor with the Bombay Incorporated Law Society and is also a Solicitor in England & Wales.

This year, Juris Corp saw the departure of several of its senior lawyers including Partner Hoshedar Wadia who moved to London, Of Counsel Fraser Alexander left to join Majmudar & Partners. In May, 2012 Partner Nisar Ookabhoy too resigned from the firm.

Juris Corp’s Founding Partner H Jayesh was not available for comments.
