The Kerala High Court has decided to upgrade its messaging service for lawyers and litigants by incorporating WhatsApp into its Case Management System (CMS).
The new messaging service will start on October 6, 2025.
All information related to e-filing defects, listing details, proceedings and other relevant updates will also be communicated to advocates, litigants, and parties-in-person via WhatsApp. These services will be enabled in a phased manner.
This WhatsApp messaging service would only be an additional mode of communication. It will not be a substitute for the issuance of notices, summons, or other processes, unless otherwise notified.
A notice issued by the High Court regarding this development makes it clear that advocates and litigants cannot misuse any non-delivery or delay in delivery of the messages to justify non-appearance. They must cross-check and verify the information relayed via WhatsApp on the official court website.
All official messages from the High Court of Kerala will be sent exclusively from the verified sender ID: The High Court of Kerala.
The WhatsApp messaging facility will be available on both primary and secondary mobile numbers registered in the system.
To change the primary number in the High Court CMS (https://ecourt.keralacourts.in/digicourt/), advocates and parties-in-person may submit a request through email, as per the existing procedure.
The secondary number can be updated directly through the Advocate Portal in the High Court CMS.
