Lakshmikumaran Partner Puneet Bansal leaves to join BMR Advisors

Puneet Bansal, Tax Partner at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan has left the firm to join BMR Advisors as a Director. He will be joining the firm with effect from June 18, 2012.

Puneet Bansal, Tax Partner at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan has left the firm to join BMR Advisors as a Director. He will be joining the firm with effect from June 18, 2012.

Puneet told Bar & Bench that he be will be part of the Indirect Tax team at BMR and will work with Rajeev Dimri, Head of Indirect Tax practice.

Puneet is a qualified Chartered Accountant and worked with L&S for almost 9 years advising several international and domestic clients in setting up operations, optimizing their tax exposures, structuring business model & supply chains and undertaking compliance with tax laws. Prior to joining L&S, Puneet was working with Maruti Udyog.

Puneet cited ‘purely professional reasons’ for his decision to move to BMR.

His areas of practice include central excise, cenvat credit, customs & foreign trade policy, service tax and sales tax. Puneet has vast litigation experience and has represented clients in various forums across India.

Recently, Bharti former Group General Counsel Vijaya Sampath has joined L&S as Senior Partner to head the firm’s corporate practice.
