The Supreme Court on Thursday announced the introduction of an updated e-filing platform on a pilot basis.

Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai made the announcement while sitting with Justices PB Varale and K Vinod Chandran. He said that the new system will combine multiple digital services into one interface.

It will have an online advocate-appearance portal, online hybrid hearing, virtual filing options - all under one window,” CJI Gavai announced.

The rollout will be phased so that the Court can progressively increase use of the platform. The current filing system will continue to function and run concurrently with the new one during this transition, CJI Gavai said.

The initiative, according to CJI Gavai, is a reflection of the Court's efforts to simplify digital procedures and increase the accessibility of different online services within a unified framework.
