Supreme Court sets up special bench to hear old motor accident cases, criminal appeals

The bench will comprise Justice K Vinod Chandran and Justice NV Anjaria and will sit every Monday and Friday at 2.00 pm.

The Supreme Court has constituted a special bench to hear old Motor Accident Claim Tribunal cases and criminal appeals.

The bench will comprise Justice K Vinod Chandran and Justice NV Anjaria and will sit every Monday and Friday at 2.00 pm.

"The Competent Authority has been pleased to constitute a Bench comprising Hon’ble Mr. Justice K Vinod Chandran and Hon’ble Mr Justice NV Anjaria on every Monday and Friday at 2.00 p.m., to hear old Motor Accident Claim Tribunal cases and criminal appeals," a notice issued by the Supreme Court on July 29 said.

The bench will start hearing cases from August 1, Friday.

"Members of the bar, parties-in-person and all stakeholders are requested to extend their co-operation by not seeking adjournment," the notice added.
