Enfold is delighted to announce a 30-month Child Rights and Access to Justice Fellowship aimed at litigating lawyers interested in advancing the rights of children in conflict with law in Bhopal, Indore, Kalaburagi, Nainital (Haldwani), and Yadgir.

Through the Fellowship, Enfold aims to improve access to justice for children who come in conflict with the law, as well as their experience of the juvenile justice system and the criminal justice system, by providing them with quality legal support. It also aims at building a cadre of lawyers trained in child rights and juvenile justice.

The fellowship entails a grant, opportunities for receiving mentorship and guidance from senior child rights lawyers, peer learning, webinars on legal developments, and co-creating a national child rights litigation network.

Through this fellowship, we aim to bring about systemic change, strengthen child-rights-based lawyering and foster learning through a child rights network in the districts where the fellowship is being implemented.

Who can apply:

  • Persons with at least 2-3 years of litigation experience, especially those who have previously worked on social causes.

  • Candidates who are self-motivated and passionate about child rights.

  • Candidates should be based in the district where they are practicing.

  • Those who can dedicate 30 months towards the fellowship programme.

Preference will be given to fellows who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, persons with disabilities, and persons belonging to gender minorities.

As a legal fellow, the selected applicant would be expected to:

  • Provide legal aid and assistance to children in conflict with the law in their district.

  • Apply and advocate for child-centric approaches at the Juvenile Justice Boards and Children’s Courts in the district.

  • Litigate at the High Court level, where needed.

  • Collaborate with local civil society organizations to extend rehabilitation support to the children in conflict with law (CiCLs) they represent, with support from Enfold.

  • Work closely with a mentor to develop case strategies and enhance their knowledge and skills in child rights litigation.

  • Participate in learning sessions, peer exchanges, webinars, and workshops organised as part of the Fellowship.

  • Report about work done as part of the fellowship at regular intervals.

Fellowship grant: 25,000 per month.

We are also organising a Child Rights and Justice Mela in Bhopal on 4 October and Kalaburagi on 25 October 2025. Lawyers based in these locations intending to apply for the fellowship are encouraged to attend the Mela.

Please read the concept note on the fellowship before applying.
