Bilkis Bano gangrape: 11 life convicts released by Gujarat government under remission policy

The convicts were reportedly released on the completion of 14 years in jail and based on other factors such as age, nature of the crime and behaviour in prison.

Eleven convicts sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of gangrape of Bilkis Bano and murder of her family members during the 2002 Gujarat riots have been released by the Gujarat government, Indian Express reports.
