Central govt opposes Delhi Waqf Board plea to fully open mosque at Nizamuddin Markaz

The Central government's counsel said that as per the DDMA guidelines, 50 people can be allowed to offer namaz but if the plea is to fully reopen the mosque, then the government has certain arguments to make.

The Central government on Friday opposed the full reopening of the mosque at Nizamuddin Markaz which has remained closed since March 2020, after a group of Tablighi Jamaat members were found to be living there allegedly in violation of the Covid norms [Delhi Waqf Board Through its Chairman v Government of NCT of Delhi and Anr].
