Law professor files PIL in Bombay High Court against AIB Knockout roast; says show violated 66A and was “filthy & abusive”

Tongue-in-cheek humor has not gone down well with everyone. After a complaint was registered in Pune against the makers of the All India Bakchod Knockout, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed by one Dr. Sharmila Ghuge in the Bombay High Court in reaction to the AIB Roast held in the city. The PIL, inter-alia, seeks to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future. In fact, it is Ghuge’s claim that the language used in the show was ‘unbearable for any cultured and reputed person of a civilized background.’
